Hero Academy Strategy - Advance

Faction Guides

With the Hero Academy ported to Android, it's time to get ready for battle.

Super good guides but difficult to search and refer every time.

Extracted from http://forums.robotentertainment.com/showthread.php?91-New-player-assistance-thread-guides-sign-up-to-help-new-players-or-receive-help

Credits to Tabby_nat for compilation.
Credits to ArtNJ, Slftfr, Johnjanitor and Nwai

They always said Crystal Kill (CK) vs Technical Knock-Out (TKO), but it has to flow from board domination or play the board.

I have been playing for a while now perhaps I can share some of my experience.
  • Council - CK (even when I am losing), perhaps of the Knight. They cannot easily dislodge the knight except impaler. Even the Knight themselves as most put a unit behind.
  • Dark Elves - TKO (a few with CK if they suddenly become very defensive)
  • Dwarves - CK (my worst team, Paladin/Annihilator always came late), others using Dwarves won me a lot (whether I'm aggressive or not)
  • Tribe - TKO (lately being losing esp. notice that it has no mass destruction. They just clump up and defend hard)
  • Shaolin - TKO (against me, after Dragon and Bamboo my healers)
  • TF2 - TKO/CK

Plants vs Zombies 2 Strategy - Wild West

Wild West

You thought plants are static in this type of tower defence game? Wait, plant, wait, plant, nothing to do after that? "Aeeerrr!" wrong again.

Wild West introduces a new feature that you can plant on carts so that some planning needs to be involved in planting the most useful plant on the cart(s) that can move vertically, some carts move partial screen vertically. This makes it more interactive and keeps you busy while you multi-task to plant and move the cart(s) to reinforce and hit the zombies. The railway track also limit your real estate for planting such that you really need to optimize.

I guessed I needed to use the plant given after I completed the stage to play the next stage, so it was a breeze.

Zombies - Counters
  • Prospector Zombie (dynamite, attacks from behind) - Split Pea (fires 2x faster backwards)/Bonk Choy (hit backwards too) (plant it on a cart if possible to guard the entire vertical lane), Iceberg Lettuce (before he detonates!), Kernel-pult
  • Pianist Zombie - Kernel-pult or Chili Bean
  • Poncho Zombie - Kernel-pult or Chili Bean, Snapdragon with Wall-nut
  • Chicken Wrangler Zombie - Kernel-pult/Lightning Reed
  • Zombie Chicken - Lightning Reed (hits 3 rows i.e. 1 row above and below but low damage)
  • Zombie Bull - Tall-nut, Kernel-pult and Snapdragon
  • Zombie Bull Rider - Tall-nut

Plants vs Zombies 2 Strategy - Pirate Seas

20 tips to mastering ‘Plants vs. Zombies 2’

I have reached Pirate Seas. What was useful was it released a new plant called Snapdragon. Very useful for stages with limited resources or plants given to complete a stage as it covers three lanes unlike Bonk Choy which covers one lane. I used it to complete Ancient Egypt stages as well. Just be careful that it will relight torches and also undo the freeze effect.

Some differences I noticed was that there were sea lanes. You thought you are safe because no zombies can "walk" on water. "Airrrr", wrong.

Swashbuckler Zombie - It can swing in half-way and you will be caught with your pants down.

Counter - See Spring Bean.

Seagull Zombie - It can fly over water and attack your plants.

Counter - See Sea Lane.
Imp Cannon Zombie - At the backline, fire imps at long range. Especially dangerous when it explodes itself when not destroyed flying imps over your hard-hitting frontlines causing havoc.

Counter - Bloomerangs. I still rely on my Kernel-pults, although it might be caught up with the other zombies. Plant food if desperate.

Avalon Wars PvP 6 (Updates)

Avalon Wars 6th PvP

In my opinion, this was one of the worst Avalon Wars PvP due to:
  • Lottery payouts were greatly reduced especially credits.
  • Compounded with no double production rate and half price/cooldown(cd).
  • Cambridge wall return was pathetic

PvP for Bootes, Capriconus, Carina, Leo and Lyra.

Winner: Carina

1st PvP: 0 points
2nd PvP: 4,875 points
3rd PvP: 6,550 points (exchanged for Mk4 NDA Amp)
4th PvP: 6,187 points (total now 7,612 points)
5th PvP: 2,520 points (exchanged for another Mk4 NDA Amp. Total now 132 points)

This round is even more brutal with 5 servers involved in the survivor of the sleepless.

Watch out for this space! I will provide you live commentary while I try to stay alive in the game.

Today 22 Sep 2013 GMT+2 (10AM SG Time), enrollment has already started.

Tomorrow 23 Sep 2013 GMT+2 (10AM SG Time), the big war will begin.

Like to highlight the differences from previous PvP
  • Players will gain 15 PvP points from each successful attack (It was 10 points)
  • Successful attacks gives wall back: Cambridge - 1, Caribbean - 2, Avalon - 3 (it was 2)
  • The PvP points gained from campaigns are reduced by half
  • A random 5-stripe hero will be replaced by a random 4-stripe hero
  • One player is not allowed to attack a same player more than 3 times in 24 hours
  • New Legion member extended to 100 (the default was 50)
  • Unannounced: Lottery payouts were greatly reduced. No double production rate and half price/cooldown(cd). It was not 7 days but I believe 9 days.

Plants vs Zombies 2 Strategy

20 tips to mastering ‘Plants vs. Zombies 2’

Extract with *my comments

*Treasure Yeti - Stop him from running away with a Wall-nut. Cheap and simple.

1. Try Plant Food on all the different plants. Some plants you may have dismissed might have really powerful Plant Food effects.

*Personally, I have tried it on Iceberg Lettuce to freeze all Zombies & put out fire in multiple torches esp. in the final wave. Iceberg Lettuce still alive & able to reuse plant food on it again if desperate. May be a good idea to leave 1 slot free to plant that in the back-end.
*Interesting to read that it can be used on Wall-Nut to last a very long time!
*Default, you can only store 3 plant food. Use it when the 4th comes along, else you cannot store it.

Avalon Wars - Formation

SHIELD FORMATION

1--2--3
4--5--6
7--8--9

Hawk Killer (Credits to Simontang)
1:Vulture/Roc 3:Ghost
4:Vulture 6:Ghost
8:Navigator/Engineer/Medic

Great tactic against SHIELD Formation with hawk hiding behind ghost at position 4. If hawk hides behind position 6, just shift the vultures to 3 & 6 positions. You can also use ghost, navigator, vulture, but usually you will have 2 NDA amps by then.
Note: It can be trapped by ARROW eagle

All Rounder (Credits to 牛排)
1:Roc 3:Ghost
4:Ghost 6:Vulture
8:Medic

Great generic tactic against SHIELD Formation with hawk hiding behind ghost at position 4 or 6. Use the existing 5-stripe heroes experts S'alsaash & Chi, which most people will max train. Roc gets hit but heals itself. Once Roc punches through, the hawk is dead meat. The vulture will pierce through if hawk is at position 6 also protected by ghost itself and healed by medic. Any synthetics at position 1, 3 or 6 will be killed.
Note: It can be trapped by ARROW eagle.

ARROW FORMATION

1--2--3
4--5--6
7--8--9

Anti-Eagle (Credits to Simontang)
1:Ghost 2:Ghost 3:Navigator
5:Vulture
8:Hawk

I have been using eagle trap quite a bit of late as I have MK4 Amp. Until, I met with this formation which is anti-eagle. If you place eagle at position 2 with ARROW, the opponent's vulture and hawk will still hit the units behind. Use HOOK with eagle at position 2 will evade the vulture, but other units will still be susceptible to hawk blast. Unless you are stronger with a ARROW double/triple vultures, I'm not able to trap him.

iPhone 5S

Speculations for iPhone 5S to be launched on 10 Sep 2013. Here are the list of new features at a glance.

  • Fingerprint Sensor On Convex Home Button
  • Size - same as iPhone 5 (4-inch). Reuters reported in June that Apple is also testing 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch screens for iPhone 6 that will launch next year.
  • 12-Megapixel Camera With Slow-Motion Video (120 frames/s)
  • Double The Flash, Double The Fun - dual LED flash
  • Composition - The iPhone 4 and 4S have glass backs, and the iPhone 5's housing is made of aluminium. Apple may be switching again, predicts BGR's Jonathan Geller. This time? Liquidmetal, an "indestructible" alloy that's twice as strong as titanium. As Engadget noted, Apple last year extended its exclusive agreement with Liquidmetal through 2014.
  • Color - Black, White And Gold

*I believe Apple is missing the whole point. What people really need is

  1. Longer Battery Life
  2. Bigger Screen Size
  3. Waterproof

For bigger screen size, there are creative ways like foldable, phones that can expand or project images in the air like a hologram or into glasses like Google glass. Kind of futuristic for forward thinking.

Plants vs Zombies 2

Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time was released on 1 Aug 2013. It's about time after more than 4 years of agonizing wait (pun not intended). 16 million downloads for the first 5 days cannot be wrong.

In the new game, battles are fought in three worlds - Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas and the Wild West. Popcap Games has promised that more worlds are on the way.

Zombies are much tougher in this version: Ra zombie in Ancient Egypt to steal your sun power, piano-playing and bull-riding zombies in the Wild West will push your strategy skills to the limit.

Plants have more varieties. The Snapdragon shoots fireballs, the Bloomberang fires bananan-like boomerangs and the Bonk Choy punches zombies to a pulp.

Plant Food to help boost your plants temporarily.

Pinch, flick and zap zombies off the grid.

Side missions, mini-games, as well as Challenge Zones at the end of each world.

I am going back to download once I get home...

Avalon Wars PvP (3rd PvP)

Avalon Wars - PvP

1st PvP: 0 points
2nd PvP: 4,875 points
3rd PvP: 6,550 points (exchanged for mk4 NDA Amp)
4th PvP: 6,187 points (total now 7,612 points)

Well, I made it back from my 3rd Avalon Wars PvP alive again. I would like to thank Sarina and T9 in helping me playing the remaining days when My family and I went to Taiwan for holidays. Thank you very much!

Day 1
I entered the PvP despite the fact that I knew I could not complete it. I just wanted to play as far as I wanted and my target was 3K PvP points before the bonuses if our server won the PvP. I tried to get my buddy Snowfest to help me, but unfortunately he was not able to. So I took the leap of blind faith...

The PvP started normally this round with 1-day protection for you to build up unlike the previous PvP.

This time round, I had early stage Dirty and later Jameswell having a lock on me. Well this was expected in every PvP. Perhaps the dom spending players had a lock on everybody for all you know.

To be continued...

Lessons learnt:

  • Get 3 or 4 Titanium Sash
  • Synthetic players, get 1 additional Platypus for Leonardo. Later get Dragoons.
  • Airforce players get ghost as soon as possible. Later get Navigators.
  • Biotic players get cross formation. T-Rex showed me it could work.
  • 4, 5-stripe heroes start to appear at Point Academy Level 17.

Hero Academy Strategy - Shaolin Strategy

Lost to a very good Shaolin player recently while I was using TF2. I thought I had the upper hand as I jarated and killed both Taoist. One Taoist left.

  • Lone Toaist parked on deployment square surrounded by last crystal, units and Shadow, impossible to stomp and resurrection by Shadow. Learnt that, medic can do the same next time on deployment square.
  • Poisoned one of my medics. I believe the other medic was hit by Windblade with bamboo in front. Killed both my medics with Dragons + Bamboo (one out, another later).
  • Without medic support, killed my units without stomping.
  • Killed his units and stomp, his units combo and Shadow converted my Heavy and retaliated. After that, don't dare to be so impulsive.
  • Used my converted Heavy to mass damage my units. Finally killed Heavy and stomp. Can't heal = dead.

One of the best loses!
I even complimented my opponent for teaching me so much.

Advanced Tip: A resurrected Monk (loses all equipment) is treated as a new unit and can tag another unit for -250. Enjoy.

Hero Academy Strategy - Dwarves, Tribes, Shaolin

Hero Academy Strategy - Tribes, Dwarves, Shaolin

I was playing Hero Academy quite a fair bit of late. Boy I had many good loses this week. I will share with you the superb strategies used by these players for Tribes, Dwarves & Shaolin.

TF2/Dwarves (I) vs Tribes

  • TF2 has no mass damage spells like fireball/soul harvest/dragonfire like Council, Dark Elves, Shaolin. Tribes mass deploy units for chain healing. Unless TF2 can link 2 Medics to a Demoman, I could not defeat this strategy. Also TF2 & Dwarves suffer from spiked damage i.e.  need to heal or bubble burst.
  • Tribe's Witch, similar to DE Necro, can remote stomp at a distance.
  • Tribe's Meat or/and Rage with Tidal Wave can kill an upgraded unit easily if not careful
  • Orc can auto-kill a Paladin below 50%

Dwarves (opponent)

  • To be continued...

Hero Academy - Dark Elves vs Team Fortress 2 (DE vs TF2) Strategy

Strategy for Dark Elves vs Team Fortress 2

Credits to Jonathan Stagliano

  • I play against TF2 extremely well by boosting HP so high that their debuff or spy can't one hit.
  • They tend to bunch units together, soul harvest them to add to your buffed units HP making them hard to take out, then add health potion to your best units (the Wraith can now get upwards of 1400HP).
  • Keep back against walls/other units for spies.
  • Take out the healers with a prejudice. 2 anyway, but they have respawn tokens. You have to take the risk.
  • They only get two Medics. So chip away from a distance until they pop out the other Medic. Then, work your way to kill & stomp them. Sometimes, it means sacrificing one of your best units to get the job done. The stomping can stop once both Medics are dead. Just don't leave a Medic in a K'O state if they have revive tokens left - Graeme Feeney
  • When healers are linked to other units, soul harvest to delink them.
  • Use impaler/necromancer combo to pull and phantom.
  • Bait their jarate with +2 units or a naked wraith - once they've used those, they really can't stop a +3 VM - credits to Blake Stannard

Start a game if you want Johnnyoc.

My comments: The biggest problem I have with them as Council is that they can take out non-upgraded units easily and then, fly in with a scout to stomp and get away "scout-free". That's really annoying as hell! The strategy for CL vs TF2 I read, uses Wizards. Let me test it out. Btw, my gamer name in HA is leathergloves1.

*My comments: I have been playing for quite a lot now with TF2 and against TF2 with DE. When jarate has not been used up, spread your equipment around. Avoid triple upgrading your units e.g. Void Monk or Wraith. One of the units I like to put a helm or/and soul stone on is impaler. It makes them more hardy to be killed in 4 vanilla hits and they can also inflict natively 300 damage which will kill most vanilla TF2 units in 3 hits.

Hero Academy TF2 Strategy Guide

I am playing Hero Academy using the free Council. Recently, one the teams that caused me a big headache and also least documented on how to deal/play with them is Team Fortress 2 or in short TF2.

I have extracted the following to help those who wants to play or deal with them.

Avalon Wars PvP (2nd PvP)

Avalon Wars - PvP

1st PvP: 0 points
2nd PvP: 4,875 points
3rd PvP: 6,550 points (exchanged for mk4 NDA Amp)
4th PvP: 6,187 points (total now 7,612 points)

Well, I made it back from my 2nd Avalon Wars PvP alive finally. I would like to share with you personally first-hand my gruelling 14-day survivor experience (yes, similar to the Survivor reality show) and how can I improve for my next PvP (if the rules remained unchanged).

Day T-3
What? Day T-3? Yes, they took 3 days to resolve the first problem...
It started off with a chaotic "hang at creating the username" experience. It was so bad that PvP players have to un-install and re-install the Avalon Wars apps to go back to their main accounts, let alone PvP accounts. What else is new? This happens to my previous Haypi Kingdom, Emross Wars PvP experience where the developers grossly under-estimated the payload of all active PvP players simultaneously logging into the PvP servers at the same time causing overloads and unforeseen bugs unseen on usual play load servers. Similarly, my previous experience with Day-1 was it was so sluggish that it was almost unplayable.

Day 1 - Maroon Sea, 1 slot
Complete Chaos! What was supposedly a 1-day protection for build-up became a Free-for-all attacked and be-attacked situation. I login straight after iFree's (or iFail's) announcement and gain an early advantage. Being an experienced PvP player, I focussed on quickly building up my base non-stop without domistals speed-up knowing that these precious metals will mean a thin line on live and death later. Some inexperienced or perhaps "rich" over-enthusiastic PvP players started attacking others straight off the bat. You will gain small amount of PvP points early as some do not have troops at all if you are lucky. If you are unlucky, they would have also assembled their troops and guess what, you lose troops, lose an early precious teleport turn and worse, without a win and antagonise the player whereby putting you into their favorites, and the early advantage would have been quickly evaporated. It's a 14-day gruelling PvP so pace yourself. Also the rewards towards the end where you can pick to kill off weak players for 110 PvP points would be much more than the initial 10 PvP points peanuts.

My patience paid off as I quickly levelled up my base's 5-stripe Omega Crusader expert synthetic hero to yes, level 10. He could start using the level 10 elite gear given free by iFree. 3 effects here. 1st, a high level Command Center deterred players psychologically from picking you as an easy prey. 2nd, the elite gear could repel a weak attack without elite gear. 3rd, the durability drop during reset would be fewer for level 11-20 players, which was easily achievable before the reset.

I did grumble at getting a synthetic expert rather than an air force expert as I knew the game would be dominated by air force players. That perception changed when I saw a player named Pangloss. I will cover that later.

I started attacking a few players randomly while building up my base non-stop, completing missions and collecting rewards. What I should have done was to check the ranking wisdom heroes to attack and won easily, as I would have a natural advantage against them.

Day 1 ended with a 15 durability wall drop. My wall dropped from 100 to 85 since I was level 11-20. With the dura wall dropped, the hunger games began.

Next problem of resource and credits shortage started...

Personally, I have installed and evaluated
  • Apple IOS - Find my iPhone
  • Android - Lookout
  • Android - SamsungDive

These are all freeware that functions well to a certain extent. Namely, tracking your device, remote lock/wipe, sound the siren/alarm. Great for personal users.

However, what if you are a corporate user, e.g. a logistic company that needs to track many truck drivers' location using different devices (Android and IOS), a company that needs large scale customize apps deployment/review and force password policies, a restaurant that wants to deploy apps to handhelds. If security is utmost important to you, you will be glad that the data transmission is over SSL. I did ask 3CX about data encryption on the device itself and 3CX replied that it is in the works.
On top of all the basic security stuff offered with the freebies software I evaluated above.

Then, the 3CX mobile device manager solution will definitely suit your needs. Even as an individual user or a small company, they offer a Free 5 Device Account for Life! For those considering purchasing more than 5, you can have a Proof of Concept first.

Additional stuff I like besides the standard tracking etc.

Manage Mobile Apps
Use 3CX Mobile Device Manager to deploy apps en masse with just a few mouse clicks. Review installed apps on all connected devices. Monitor for malware and remove inappropriate and rogue apps. Create a whitelist of approved apps and send all inappropriate apps to the blacklist to be automatically blocked.
With 3CX Mobile Device Manager you can configure settings remotely for individual devices or multiple devices simultaneously, including email settings and Wi-Fi network configuration and passwords. View installed apps, call logs and messages sent and received and the model name, operating system version and CPU and memory usage for each device. 3CX Mobile Device Manager also alerts you to important events such as policy violations.

I will also personally install 3CX mobile device manager to share with you my first hand experience later in another post.

Important note with regards to uninstallation as you need to uncheck device administrator to uninstall in Android, a security feature not a bug.

Play Store Reviews
Jeuris Rodriguez - January 10, 2013 - HTC Nexus One
To uninstall
Menu > setting > location & security > select device administrator > unchecked > uninstall like any other app from application menu

Great for corporations!
Let's you keep track of and manage many devices. Only admins can uninstall- it's a feature, not a flaw!

Battle Cats God Cat

Well, let's say I'm facing an uphill task for Battle Cats final chapter 3 stage 48 as I have already activated my first free use of God cat unknowingly. But I like the challenge of beating Battle Cats stage 3-48 without cat food.

God Cat can perform 4 kinds of miracles to help you:
  1. Wrath of God (20 cat food): Attack with lightning that is 3 times more powerful than cat cannon.
  2. God Bless You (10 cat food): Blow all enemies back to their base.
  3. Healing Oasis (5 cat food): Heal all your cats.
  4. Baby Boom (90 cat food): For a limited time, there'd be no cool down for cat production, and money production at the highest level.
The very first time God Cat is used it'd be free.

*Update: Thanks everyone, I got Moneko. It's not automatic, you need to manually receive all the 10 gifts. I have almost finished upgrading her to level 20. Let's see whether she can tank the first kangaroo at stage 3-48.

Battle Cats Best Quality Treasure

Yi Lin asked how to get best quality treasure.

Download the updated version of Battle cats for Treasure event or festival to increase the chances to 2x to get treasures. I believe you need to be online (mobile data/WiFi) for it to be activated, just like the half-price store (they want you to buy). Remember to check all three chapters as the treasure chances are independent. Clear all stages once to activate them so that a treasure chance can be in any of the stages, thus increasing your chances. If you are able to max out the energy tech and treasures, it will also help. Once I see the treasure chance for that stage, I usually hammer it until I get best quality treasure. So far, I only did not succeed once because I did not have time to continue. If you have full energy, you can also cycle through the stages by playing the stages you have won once, then second round, then third round... I have somewhat success for that for first two chapters, also helps to gain more experience that way for upgrades.

My observations: Chapter 1 stages are more dependent on speed. However, for those stages you got no treasures or inferior most or all of the time, try the max money cap method. Chapter 2 stages, I use max money cap method mainly for later stages. Chapter 3 chances are much lower. I use the cycle through stages method or wait for treasure events.

yantao wrote:

Some observations of getting treasure:
1) Use tank cats to stall
2) Max out the working cats
3) Store max amount of money until it hits the cap
4) Release all the high level cats
5) Fire your laser, doesn't matter if it hits anything (Tried one level for 10 times and got the best quality by firing it)
6) Let them hit your tower once. My comments: Very difficult to tell.
7) Seems like speed of completing the game is important as well
8) If max money cap & units doesn't work for that level, alternative strategy is to play a very quick game

The chance of getting treasures are higher but not guaranteed either. Please share your findings on getting the treasures, it's important for next chapter.

More tips for getting treasure
Getting treasure in a stage seems to be a function of how quickly you complete it. The faster you win, the higher your chance of getting treasure, though it's never a 100% chance. (Faster doesn't seem to the only criteria here, check some other criteria above)

Treasure qualities are inferior, normal, and best. Which quality of treasure you receive is random. (Quite true)

Focus on small groups of levels at a time. Treasure bonuses only really matter when they fill out full sections on the treasure list.

Use the Game Speed Up tokens before you enter a stage to dramatically increase your chances of earning treasure. (Not willing to spend cat food on this)

*My comments: Thanks everyone, I got Moneko. It's not automatic, you need to manually receive all the 10 gifts.

*Update: The difference between treasure event and treasure festival. Treasure event is 2x the chance only for that given stage for 30 minutes. Treasure festival is also for 30 mins, but the difference is 2x the chance for any stage you choose (you better have full stamina and better be fast).

**Update: Tested, bike cat does not work at getting best quality treasures. It's random.

he did for stage 1. I was able to get 48/48 on chapter 1 with him.
but i've been getting crap luck on 2 and 3.

bike cat is pretty awesome though.
slow, but great damage and hits multiple enemies.
he attacks by shooting missiles at them.
when you upgrade he becomes a biker cat and attacks with spikes popping from the wheels.

Battle Cats Units Guide

Final Stage/Level/Boss 3-48 Screenshot

Battle Cats Units Guide - Credits to Acextreme

In case someone desires a more scientific approach, here is a detailed list of damages for the important cats (if I don't bother to list them down, that just means they aren't worth your attention). This list should help you gauge which special cats you want to buy as well as how you strategize. Especially useful if you even want to beat Chapter 3-48 last boss!

As I did this when I only had the increase max attack power treasure from chapter 1, use these figures as a rough gauge. The treasures' effects stack so obviously your attack will be higher than what I listed here if you have 2 or more "increase max attack" treasures from the other chapters. And you are advised to get all the treasures because the last stage boss is incredibly hard to beat and if you do it right, you would need to use AT LEAST one god cat (instant production) in order to win; this first use is free but subsequent use require cat food (90 for that instant production activation), so please think wisely and carefully on when to use it. If you time it wrongly, unless you cheat, nothing will help you win. I have not known any methods of beating the game without one use of god cat, so if you do know, kindly post here. Otherwise, I will leave the fun of finding out how to beat that last cat to you; once you beat him, it's no fun anymore.

TIPS #1: Try it a few times to take note of what activates the last stage boss and experiment before you consider when you should use that free god cat. And note that your cats most likely will die in 1 hit from that boss, so plan on when to activate your god cat.

TIPS #2: That means it's a better idea to hit him hard than a sustained attack strategy since your cats die in 1 hit, or in the case of the great Valkyrie cat, 2 hits if all treasures acquired. So I would suggest high dmg over high dps; what use is dps if they don't survive for their next attack?

Here's the list (Sort by DPS, one "increase attack power" treasure, and fully upgraded to LVL 10 or 20; can't remember which level they are at when I did the tests):

Drunken cat = 7920 dmg / 1131.43 dps (7s per hit / 1s animation frame / AOE) is the animation means it will spend 1s dancing around before the real damage is dealt
Mythical Giant = 2016 dmg / 916.36 dps (2.2s per hit / AOE)
Great Valkyrie = 3600 dmg / 837.21 dps (4.3s per hit / AOE)
Whale cat = 1296 dmg / 720 dps (1.8s per hit)
Gangster cat = 2160 dmg / 635.29 dps (3.4s per hit / AOE)
UFO cat = 1188 dmg / 625.26 dps (1.9s per hit / AOE)
Dragon cat = 2520 / 600 dps (4.2s per hit)
Devil cat = 1440 dmg / 578.68 dps (1.97s per hit)
Executioner = 864 dmg / 576 dps (1.5s per hit)
Super Bondage = 720 dmg / 480 dps (1.5s per hit)
Super Mr = 252 dmg / 458.18 dps (0.55s per hit)
Giraffe cat = 93 dmg / 265.71 dps (0.35s per hit)

This is provided as a contribution so I don't owe anyone anything. If you are polite with your enquiries, I would help you if I have the time (which is quite a rare resource for me). If you come at me in a demanding tone, you will be ignored. Good luck with the game! I am sure this important information will aid you very much in your quest to beat the game. Have fun!

P.S. BTW, I only used 3 cats for the Chapter 3-48, of which 1 of them is a special cat (i.e. super bondage cat). Just in case you are wondering which special cat might be useful...

My comments: Drunken Kung-Fu cat seems to be the most promising.

*Update: Just reached 3-48 using the wave. Out of energy. Don't know whether to try with Kung-Fu cat at level 6 or get some more treasures and beef up Kung-Fu cat to level 20? Btw, he is cheaper and spawns faster than Valkyrie but I believe he can be easily hit or one-shot by the last boss. Valkyrie has more range and heard it can survive one hit with stamina treasure and full upgrades.

Battle Cats Stage 2-48 Dark Emperor Nyandum

I need to download updated version of Battle cats to grind treasure. They have the Treasure event or festival to increase the chances 2x to get treasure. I also heard there is a 100 cat-food for the energy bug fix, we'll see...

*Update: Downloaded the update and claimed the free 100 cat-food compensation, yum yum. I got another 2 best treasures from the treasure festival (2x chances). Cleared stage 2-48 already with mix of treasures in areas stated below. The mobs were literally at my castle doorstep before my "wave" started to push them back. The money gained treasure, which previously I didn't have, really helped as I was able to churn out another mythical-giant-warrior-cat. When Nyandum shot out his AOE attack and knocked back my entire wave, the 2nd mythical-giant-warrior-cat just waltzed in and got free hits. At the later part of the game, I was spamming so many units like crazy as I did not want the money to max out and go to waste that it reached max capacity (unable to produce any more units), LOL.

You need to activate the following treasures before you can take on Dark Emperor Nyandum

Chapter 1 Masculinity - Money production
Chapter 1 Tradition - Unit production
Chapter 1 Greediness - Money gained
Chapter 1 Snowscape - Stamina
Chapter 1 Attractiveness - Attacking power
Chapter 1 Bigness - Recharging time

Chapter 2 Masculinity
Chapter 2 Tradition
Chapter 2 Greediness
Chapter 2 Snowscape
Chapter 2 Attractiveness
Chapter 2 Bigness

I only managed to beat Nyandum after I got all the above

Battle Cats Final Level Final Stage 3-48 (Video)

Battle Cats Final Stage 3-48 - credits to dio brando for link and Japanese comrade for video

Battle Cats last stage in Japanese, but you can kind of figure out how it is done. I am also looking at how fast his production cool down is and infer that he has max money production, unit production, stamina and attack power with treasures completed in all those areas.

He is completely spamming the screen with wall-cats and later with macho-cats as well. Same trick of not attacking the tree straight away until you max out money capacity. But it seems that he didn't need all the money at all! The last boss, Bun Bun Teacher almost broke through, no more Valkyries...

Credits to Samloi
Just to share how I have beaten the last boss, similar to the spoiler video with a bit variation (can't defeat boss using that method)

1) 100% for income, production speed, stamina, attack power, recharge speed. 80% and above for cannon attack, income for destroyed dogs. All cats max level. My comments: Perhaps planning to max out wall-cat, giraffe-cat (clear early stages), dragon-cat, Valkyrie and macho-cat should be enough since that's all the units that were used. Of course the techs and treasure should be maxed if possible. Esp. those related to money production, unit production, money gained, and cat units related techs.
2) When first kangaroo comes close to base, keep spamming wall cat.
3) Spam Valkyrie when possible.
4) Once Valkyrie is out, spam dragon cat. At this stage, spam Wall cat, Valkyrie and dragon cat.
5) You will find yourself attacking the boss castle. Once boss castle reach 85000, spam Wall Cat, Valkyrie, Dragon cat and Muscle cat. My comments: Use ©wall-macho-time-spawn-method©. See my comments at the bottom of the post.
6) Once the Valkyries are knocked out (you should have 3 at this time), spam Wall Cats, Valkyrie, Muscle Cat, Dragon cat and Brave Cat. My comments: Yes, he meant the 3 Valkyries knocked out. Bun Bun Teacher closing in. Keep cool and use ©wall-macho-time-spawn-method©. Sent out gin-gang wave TOGETHER and Valkyrie later (Valkyries move faster). Use cat-cannons.
7) Use cat cannon when possible.
8) Win and get Bahumut

*Updates: Din0saurus wrote - Completed the game using Japanese comrade YouTube strategy, finally!! No need 100% buffs. Money, production and stamina above 80% good enough already.

**Updates: I cannot even survive the chapter 3 stage 48 first kangaroo. My chapter 3 treasures are lacking so back to grinding.

*My comments: Thanks everyone, I got Moneko. It's not automatic, you need to manually receive all the 10 gifts. I almost finished upgrading her up to level 20 and will use her to test out stage 3-48, after I completed stage 3-48 without her. I want to test out with and without her to see whether it is possible to complete by normal means and no cat food. Guess what, the final boss is called Bun Bun Teacher, seeesh! I would have expected the name to be more evil, more powerful, more whatever, like Satan or Devourer, but Bun Bun Teacher, "censored"!

***Updates: Tried last stage 3-48 3 times, failed 3 times. Ouch! Managed to survive the first kangaroo and reached the last boss Bun Bun Teacher with full 10.5k cap money. Pumping out tank-cats and later macho-cats to stall the final boss. 1st try too excited. Pump out the wave instead of slowly accumulating the Valkyries and dragon-cats. 2nd try, managed to knock back the final boss, but once Valkyries die, the final boss just attack faster than any of my units including Kung-Fu cat. Third try similar fate. Study the video again. Noticed that he stacked at least 3 Valkyries together. Once left 2 Valkyries, the defence started to crumble. Not a single unit individually is able to dish out an attack faster than the final boss and he one-shot everything. Money dries up and die. I concluded that my money, unit production treasures are not fast enough and also stamina and attack treasures still not there yet.

****Updates: The subsequent tries managed to knock back the final boss Bun Bun Teacher a few times. However, the knock backs were not sustainable and the defence eventually crumbled. I have not tried again, but I have fully upgraded my cat cannon to max despite knowing the longer recharge time. Anyway, if I really want to kill him, let's max everything. I am doing the treasure festival and treasure chances to try to get best quality treasures for money, unit production, stamina and attack. Perhaps also cat cannon attack (my recharge is 300% already). I am really trying to finish it without cat food, though I have 126 cat food. One of the main problem is the Bun Bun Teacher's attack is faster than any of your individual big guns and my money dries up as no scrap mobs. With my next try, I will not panic by sending out individual units after he manages to clear the frontline. Slow him down with wall-cats and macho-cats, but send out the whole gin gang in a wave perhaps. It is really quite sad that the last stage is not about strategy, but ends up with either grinding almost all best quality treasures or using cat food to call god-cat. Perhaps that is why they designed battle cats with the god-cat in mind. When all hopes are lost, call for god-cat... OMG!

*****Final Update: I was so fed-up that I activated God-cat's baby boom, yet I still lost! Best treasures on all unit production (almost all best treasures in money and unit departments), mind you.
I re-studied the video over and over again, this time paying close attention to every detail (less translating from Japanese to English). Finally, I managed to win. Still, I used cat-food to heal.
LISTEN CAREFULLY: The most important thing is THE SUMMONING TIMING between the MACHO-CAT and the WALL-CAT. What? Yes, the timing of summoning a macho-cat has to be at the half-way point of the cooldown of the wall-cat. The summoning of the wall-cat will naturally fall in place at slightly over the half-way cooldown point of the macho-cat. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE COOLDOWN, DO NOT WATCH THE BATTLE less you get distracted. You will lose if you spam blindly. This is my experience.

If you must use God-cat's baby boom, do it when the income is still pouring in from killing scrap mobs. I felt stupid when I activated God-cat when Bun Bun Teacher popped out and I could summon only 3 Valkyries and income dried up. It stayed on for a good full minute but I had NO INCOME. Stupid!

Good luck Battle Cats!

******One more Update: (I thought u said last?) I cleared the second time just now using Japanese comrade method. This time round without using cat-food heal (but more best treasures), just to prove to you that it can be done without cat-food. The ©wall-macho-time-spawn-method© is crucial to delay Bun Bun Teacher to get a few knock backs at the initial defence. After he broke through my defence, I continued to use the ©wall-macho-time-spawn-method© to delay him enough to call Valkyries and the whole gin-gang wave twice and my cat cannons could also recharge and fire 2 more times (all max upgraded). He finally RIP.

*******One more last Update: (better be last) Saw in YouTube, someone cleared with tank, girrafe and bicycle cats to stall Bun Bun Teacher, instead of ©wall-macho-time-spawn-method©. I have not tried that myself but YouTube proof.

********Alicia Devon Koo's Update: Complete battle cats stage 3 with minimal treasures! I read through and I felt she did really really well to complete the game in 2 weeks. That's what I called focus.

Link in more. Post getting a bit long here. Video choppy but proof.

Good luck Battle Cats!!!

Battle Cats (Challenge Mode)

Challenge Mode

*My comments: Thanks everyone, I got Moneko. It's not automatic, you need to manually receive all the 10 gifts. Personally, I have tried the challenge mode at all non-cat-food cats and techs max at level 10 with money production, stamina, attack treasures completed at about average 60% increase. I still cannot defeat the two red-head Buddhas. I tried stalling them by pumping small units and also giraffe-cat with the "wave" and fire cat-cannons but unable to hold them back. Update: Just completed challenge mode. Completing more treasures with a mix of medals certainly helps. Now to try to win 2-48.

Back to completing treasures for chapter 1 & 2 perhaps, or try it when I get Valkyrie Cat after completing chapter 2. Btw, there are 3 chapters of 48 levels each.

In a nutshell,
  • Always have 2 wall-cats (level 10 evolved tank cat) on the field against squirrels stream until max-out worker cat and money . Then, continuously pump out wall and beautiful leg cats while keeping money max.
  • Pump out Mythical Giant warrior cat, dragon-cat, whale-cat, beautiful legs cat and UFO-cat in a wave when money is maxed
  • When it goes under 90,000 and 10,000 a black "assassin bear" is spawned. The only thing that will kill the assassin bear is a cannon blast so if it isn't ready, you are DEAD.

Do not pump out the "wave" while the kangaroos are pinned at their tree, let them advance so that your wave does not trigger the 90K mark. The assassin bear may kill your wave or worse, waves and then you have nothing left for the kangaroos.

Also fire your cat cannon early (it takes time as it sprays across the entire screen) to pre-empt the bear from destroying all your waves.

Battle Cats Strategy (Part 2)

Levels 46-48 - credits to Traf Pani

My tactic of using mainly axe, fish and cow cats worked right through until 45. But 46 onwards I had to rethink tactics a little.

My comments: Similarly, I used tank, gross and giant cats (all level 10) and reached level 44. Level 45 needs axe-cat as a lot of red enemies. Update: Just saw whale-cat (level 10 fish-cat) is also strong against red enemies with splash damage.

The big trouble is the bear, I was able to take out one using my original tactic (see my post above) in level 45 but in 46 where there are two bears at one time, this just didn't work.

My comments: Level 45 with one bear, I used the giraffe-cat (level 10 cow) to knock back the bear. At level 46, I have trouble too. So, I upgraded castle (wasted), cat (wasted) and cannon power (not tried out yet). Actually, the axe and tank cats will kill the stream of squirrels just fine.

Battle Cats Strategy (Part 1)

This type of games has very simple graphics, but a lot of depth in gameplay.

For all you know, this may be the latest craze like Angry Birds.

As a lover of strategy games - Haypi Kingdom, Emross Wars, Avalon Wars, Mushroom Wars, this strategy game naturally got me addicted.

I'll include a well written strategy by someone else (credits will be given) and also include my own experiences, which I always do for all my blogs for that personal touch.

There will be a 3-part series on the Battle Cats strategy.

General tips on beating levels (credits to JohnB)

Step 1: Increase working cat two or three times.
Step 2: When enemies draw near, send out tank cat to keep the castle safe.
Step 3: Continue upgrading working cat and sending out defensive cats.
Step 4: When the laser is charged, unleash it. This usually clears a path. If it doesn't, send out a few quick attackers (samurai, bovine, box of kittens) along with a gross cat to follow the pack of tank cats.
Step 5: Keep long range attackers and tank cats coming at a steady pace, allowing them to attack from relative safety. This takes out pretty much any enemy but works best with some close range attackers keeping enemy numbers thin.

Apart from one or two trip-ups, this has worked for me in every stage. Tank cat and gross cat are maxed out at level ten, with a few others upgraded to five or six. The laser's range is increased and working cat was upgraded in the shop to level five or so.

*My comments: I did upgrade my working cat. However, I find the 1st few levels too easy. May be better off upgrading Study to get more experience until later levels.

I believe tank and gross cats are fine until stage 17 which is my first lost. The Kan-Fu Penguins and Gorilla kills your castle too fast. Anyway, my tank and gross cats are only level 2 :-P I focus a lot on Study and Working Cat/Wallet. Need to up them a bit to see the effects.

*Update: After upgrading tank cat and gross cat progressively to level 10, I have been able to pass each stage the first time. Let's see...

**Update: Once you get Giant warrior cat, upgrade as much as possible to Mythical Giant-cat (level 10) as he makes the difference between winning and being overwhelmed. At stage 40+ (one of the stages), there are a lot of red enemies (esp. rhino). I lost and I am forced to upgrade my axe cat to brave-cat (level 10), then I can overwhelm the enemy. At stage 46, they keep spawning squirrels very quickly and my giraffe-cat (cow cat level 10) cannot even come out in time. So I change strategy to upgrade cat to macho-cat (level 10) and castle as well. Let's see.

Samsung Note 2 vs iPhone 5 (Round 2)

Round 2 - Brains

While Thor (Apple) has a lot of trick punches up his sleeves (Apps Store), Hulk (Android) is no push over with his own (Play Store).

However, I must say that Thor's punches (apps) are more precise (quality), while Hulk punches do miss more often (apps bomb out or occasionally have virus).

Thor also thinks faster (faster processing) than Hulk as he is a little bit sluggish (a little bit laggy).

Apps Store still has it premium, attracting developers to develop their apps there first. Also, I believe the standards set by Apple helps. If you are running mission critical apps such as having to do a presentation, you want your apps to be STABLE. The Avalon Wars game I am playing in Android bombs out pretty often.

That said, Play Store has quite a number of free apps to attract users e.g. the Popstar my wife is playing is free, while Apps Store is only free to play for 5 levels only.

If you are going for mission critical apps, go for Apple.
If you are more into fun, go for Android.

Round 2
Winner: Thor (Apple)

Samsung Note 2 vs iPhone 5

Does size really matter?

In the green (Android) corner, we have Note 2 Hulk.
In the red (Apple) corner, we have iPhone 5 Thor.

Let the fight begin...
Ding! Ding!

Round 1 - Body

Note 2 Giant Hulk threw huge left and right screen hooks at iPhone 5.
iPhone 5 Tall Thor countered with a high resolution screen uppercut back at Note 2.

The crowd roared in approval for more screen size action.
The judges awarded a point to Hulk.

Hulk's body seemed to have undergone plastic surgery.
While, Thor's body was still as solid as aluminium metal.

The crowd gasped as both super heroes bodies fell to the floor.
Hulk's body took a beating and judges awarded the body-shot point to Thor.

Hulk's body was huge.
Thor's body was tall and slim with dexterity.

However, Hulk does have some nifty tricks with one hand.
The crowd and judges could not arrive to a decision.

Remember to get a casing/cover with corner protector and screen protector for Hulk. I know my relative's friend dropped and broke the screen in the first week and complaints from colleagues of cracked corners and dented sides when dropped.
Well, Hulk IS heavy-weight (180 kg... I mean 180 g).

You should see the size of the smartphones in the Korean drama and the Korean actress was carrying, slightly smaller than the iPad mini!

Personally, I like to have a bigger yet still manageable screen. Easy on the eyes and ability to do real multi-tasking.
I use the phone to see/read/play more than I talk now.

Round 1
Winner: Hulk (Note 2)

Round 2 - Brains
