Hero Academy Strategy - Advance

Faction Guides

With the Hero Academy ported to Android, it's time to get ready for battle.

Super good guides but difficult to search and refer every time.

They always said Crystal Kill (CK) vs Technical Knock-Out (TKO), but it has to flow from board domination or play the board.

I have been playing for a while now perhaps I can share some of my experience.
  • Council - CK (even when I am losing), perhaps of the Knight. They cannot easily dislodge the knight except impaler. Even the Knight themselves as most put a unit behind.
  • Dark Elves - TKO (a few with CK if they suddenly become very defensive)
  • Dwarves - CK (my worst team, Paladin/Annihilator always came late), others using Dwarves won me a lot (whether I'm aggressive or not)
  • Tribe - TKO (lately being losing esp. notice that it has no mass destruction. They just clump up and defend hard)
  • Shaolin - TKO (against me, after Dragon and Bamboo my healers)
  • TF2 - TKO/CK

Plants vs Zombies 2 Strategy - Wild West

Wild West

You thought plants are static in this type of tower defence game? Wait, plant, wait, plant, nothing to do after that? "Aeeerrr!" wrong again.

Wild West introduces a new feature that you can plant on carts so that some planning needs to be involved in planting the most useful plant on the cart(s) that can move vertically, some carts move partial screen vertically. This makes it more interactive and keeps you busy while you multi-task to plant and move the cart(s) to reinforce and hit the zombies. The railway track also limit your real estate for planting such that you really need to optimize.

I guessed I needed to use the plant given after I completed the stage to play the next stage, so it was a breeze.

Zombies - Counters
  • Prospector Zombie (dynamite, attacks from behind) - Split Pea (fires 2x faster backwards)/Bonk Choy (hit backwards too) (plant it on a cart if possible to guard the entire vertical lane), Iceberg Lettuce (before he detonates!), Kernel-pult
  • Pianist Zombie - Kernel-pult or Chili Bean
  • Poncho Zombie - Kernel-pult or Chili Bean, Snapdragon with Wall-nut
  • Chicken Wrangler Zombie - Kernel-pult/Lightning Reed
  • Zombie Chicken - Lightning Reed (hits 3 rows i.e. 1 row above and below but low damage)
  • Zombie Bull - Tall-nut, Kernel-pult and Snapdragon
  • Zombie Bull Rider - Tall-nut

Plants vs Zombies 2 Strategy - Pirate Seas

20 tips to mastering ‘Plants vs. Zombies 2’

I have reached Pirate Seas. What was useful was it released a new plant called Snapdragon. Very useful for stages with limited resources or plants given to complete a stage as it covers three lanes unlike Bonk Choy which covers one lane. I used it to complete Ancient Egypt stages as well. Just be careful that it will relight torches and also undo the freeze effect.

Some differences I noticed was that there were sea lanes. You thought you are safe because no zombies can "walk" on water. "Airrrr", wrong.

Swashbuckler Zombie - It can swing in half-way and you will be caught with your pants down.

Counter - See Spring Bean.

Seagull Zombie - It can fly over water and attack your plants.

Counter - See Sea Lane.
Imp Cannon Zombie - At the backline, fire imps at long range. Especially dangerous when it explodes itself when not destroyed flying imps over your hard-hitting frontlines causing havoc.

Counter - Bloomerangs. I still rely on my Kernel-pults, although it might be caught up with the other zombies. Plant food if desperate.
